The Kidd Tiny House Gets As Tiny As It Is
If you are looking for a tiny house that arguably defines the term, look no further than The Kidd at Salvage Texas. The Kidd is just one of the tiny house accommodations at the bed and breakfast, measuring just 67 square feet on the first floor and 50 square feet on the second floor.
The house is tall and narrow with a wide porch and deck, and spindly supports which give the structure an almost surreal quality. Like the other tiny accommodations at Salvage Texas, it is surrounded by beautiful countryside.
The wraparound porch offers incredible views from both sides. When guests are not busy simply enjoying the beauty of the unique house, they can explore the 43 acres of the property at will. There’s a great deal to see and do at Salvage Texas, including visiting an open-air marketplace for salvaged materials and taking classes to learn about tiny house construction.
Painstaking care and attention to detail has been taken with every aspect of The Kidd so that the tiny house is a work of art both outside and in. It features a mishmash of soft colors and unique textures, just as the other accommodations on the property do. While you cannot cook in the kitchen, there’s a sink and countertops for your convenience.
Even with its tiny dimensions, this accommodation manages to squeeze in a full-size shower. While there is no toilet available, there is one in the community bathhouse.
If you intend to bring any work with you (though I can’t imagine why you would), The Kidd features a lovely desk where you can sit down with a laptop. This might be useful if you wanted to take notes from the workshops.
