Kate Middleton breaks silence, apologizes for missing Trooping The Colour rehearsal amid ongoing cancer battle
Kate Middleton, honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards, has expressed regret for missing the rehearsal for Trooping the Colour amid her cancer treatment. In a heartfelt letter, she wrote, “I wanted to let you know how proud I am of the entire Regiment… I appreciate everyone trooping this year has been practicing for months.”
Middleton emphasized her honor in being their Colonel and apologized for her absence: “I am very sorry that I’m unable to take the salute at this year’s Colonel’s Review… I hope to represent you all again very soon.”
The Irish Guards expressed their appreciation and best wishes for her recovery. A Kensington Palace spokesperson confirmed Middleton will not attend the Colonel’s Review, with Lieutenant General James Bucknall taking her place. The palace has not confirmed if she will attend Trooping the Colour.
