Spring Home Maintenance Tasks
1.Check smoke detectors
Check your smoke detectors twice a year. I do it on both the fall and spring equinox.
2.Check/replace HVAC filters
Check your HVAC filters monthly, but you may not have to replace them each month. Be sure to keep on top of changing your HVAC filters in the spring. Allergens are on the way!
3.Clean ceiling fans & light fixtures
Don’t forget about dusting those ceiling fans and light fixtures. You’ll need those fans soon and you don’t want them blowing dust everywhere.
4.Clean carpets & rugs
Your rugs and carpets took a beating over the winter. Now is the time to clean carpets and rugs. Your home will thank you.
5.Deep clean kitchen appliances
Similarly, kitchen appliances like your stove, fridge and microwave could all use a deep clean too.
6.Clean and disinfect light switches & doorknobs
Light switches and doorknobs are often overlooked. Keep them clean and disinfected for your loved ones.
7.Clean windows inside
Cleaning your windows is an instant mood-booster. You don’t realize how dirty they are until they’re clean!
8.Clean indoor garbage can
Although, you may change your trash bags often, how often do you clean your indoor garbage can? Get in there and get out that sticky goo! Yuck!
