Fetterman Blames Pelosi For Devastating Harris Loss: ‘You Got What You Wanted’
Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania accused former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of being to blame for the Democrats’ dismal showing in the 2024 elections. Fetterman attacked Pelosi in an interview with Politico for having a power role in the Democratic Party, claiming that she pushed Biden out and helped pave the way for Kamala Harris before accusing Biden of being responsible for the party’s subsequent collapse.
Fetterman drew attention to the internal conflicts within the Democratic Party, where various factions blame one another for Trump’s victory in the House, Senate, and presidency. Additionally, he was annoyed by Pelosi’s criticism of Biden’s choice to support Harris, describing it as ironic considering her advanced age and lengthy political career.
Fetterman also criticized Democrats for calling Trump supporters “fascists,” claiming that this alienates and fails to connect with voters. He urged Democrats to reconsider their strategy, arguing that reprimanding voters would not aid the party in winning future elections.
After losing the 2024 election, Pelosi has come under mounting pressure to resign. She and Senator Chuck Schumer were publicly urged to step down by Teamsters President Sean O’Brien. Pelosi has filed for reelection in 2026 in spite of these calls, and she has persisted in saying that she thinks Biden’s choice to back Harris affected the outcome of the election.
