FIRST PUBLIC STATEMENT FROM PRINCE WILLIAM ON HIS WIFE AND FATHER, KING CHARLES

Prince William publicly thanked the British public for their support following his wife Kate’s recent surgery and his father King Charles’s cancer diagnosis. At a gala dinner for London’s Air Ambulance Charity, William said, “Thank you for the kind messages of support for Catherine and my father.

It means a great deal to us all.” He added, “The past few weeks have had a rather ‘medical’ focus, so I thought I’d come to an air ambulance function to get away from it all.” The event included guests like Hollywood actor Tom Cruise.

William had postponed engagements to care for his children after Kate’s abdominal surgery on January 16. King Charles, 75, underwent treatment for an enlarged prostate and was later diagnosed with cancer. Despite his diagnosis, Charles remains “wholly positive” and plans to continue his work and state duties.

Prince Harry visited King Charles briefly before returning to the U.S., maintaining distance from the rest of the family. With King Charles and Kate recovering, William and Queen Camilla are expected to take on more public duties, ensuring the monarchy’s continuity.
