13-year-old builds $1,500 tiny house in family’s backyard
Luke Thill, a 13-year-old middle school student from Iowa, embarked on an extraordinary journey over the past year: building his very own home in his family’s backyard. With determination and ingenuity, Luke managed to construct an 89-square-foot tiny home, fueled by his passion and resourcefulness.
To fund his project, Luke raised $1,500 through various means, including mowing lawns and assisting neighbors and friends. His inspiration came from stumbling upon tiny house videos on YouTube, which sparked a fascination that eventually led him to pursue building his own.
With the support of his parents, Greg and Angie Thill, Luke was given the green light to pursue his ambitious project on their four-acre property.
